New energy-efficient HPC cluster based on Intel® Xeon® 5600 series processors and liquid cooling has been deployed at the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet). The RSC Group has developed the solution and integrated a pilot cluster system with 15.33 TFLOPS peak performance that supports future expansion. New Roshydromet computing cluster is based on the innovative RSC Tornado cluster architecture developed by RSC. Russian meteorologists use this high-performance solution for further improvement of operating technologies to increase weather forecast accuracy, interval and detail level.
